IDENTITY & BECOMING A BETTER VERSION OF YOURSELF

CHANGE YOUR LIFE IN 15 MINUTES!

2 Corinthians 3:16-18 (ESV)

But when pone3 turns to the Lord, qthe veil is removed. Now the Lord4 is the Spirit, and where rthe Spirit of the Lord is, there is sfreedom. And we all, with unveiled face, tbeholding uthe glory of the Lord,5 vare being transformed into the same image wfrom one degree of glory to another.6 For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit (emphasis mine).

Did you know that one day last week was National Quitters Day? How are you doing with your New Year’s Resolutions or goals? Have you already become discouraged?

This podcast is for you!

I truly believe you can change your life in 15 minutes because this little segment of time is realistic and simplistic for you to make small changes that will result in big results. Why is that? As you begin to make change within this time segment, it will motivate you to keep going and do it again!

If you can’t carve out 15 minutes a day, I would seriously advise and encourage you to look critically at your schedule. You’re doing too much! What needs to go to make room for what needs to stay?

Here are my thoughts for 15 minute segments of time. There’s no need to do these things daily. It’s a matter of establishing a pattern that will become habitual:

Lift

weights

your eyes to God

your hands in worship

Learn (or Relearn)

double up an old habit with a new one (ex. watching TV and lifting weights)

a new skill

an old skill

the meaning of a word in Scripture

List It

bible verse that speaks to your heart and mind

worry journal

what is going well? (gratitude)

your thoughts (and then challenge!) – think about your thinking!

Letter

to God

to a friend

to your children

to your adult children

Look

for the good (see above); intentionality

choose to shift your cognitive focus by looking at something new/different

Listen

be still and know He is God…

to the birds or noises outside

to your spouse

to your children (any age)

to a friend

to upbeat music

Lean In

grief? Don’t suppress or ignore

disappointment? Acknowledge your emotions in the moment! Don’t carry your negative emotions into the future by making erroneous assumptions or conclusions.

Lonely

Initiate! Don’t wait.

Look outside yourself – close friend, community group, book club, service club
